3 Ways To Make The Most Out of Quarantine

When it comes to social distancing and sheltering at home, everyone has a different philosophy on how best to spend this time. Some of us take on a very go go go mindset no matter what the circumstances, and have channeled that energy into various projects. Others have made relaxation a prime focus, looking for the latest Netflix binge to unwind.

Being at home for two months (so far) has really caused me to reflect on the way I think about my time. I’ve asked myself, what do I miss? and what do I not miss? and there are plenty of items in both categories. In the meantime, I’m trying to make the most of this time at home and shift some of my habits to reflect the life I want to live in the future. Below are some of my tips to help you do the same!

Note: Don’t feel like you need to check all of these items off your list. Think about your personal goals and find what speaks to you! We don’t need to force ourselves into productivity – rather, we should take this time to prioritize.

1. Take a course that interests you.

Just a few months ago, I used to complain that there aren’t enough hours in the day. But for many of us, this just isn’t the case anymore. I’m a lifelong learner and always want to discover something new, so right now, I’m taking some courses on Cudoo. This is an online learning platform with more than 1,300 professional development and language courses. I signed up for the Digital Marketing course bundle, and will soon be able to get an SEO for Business certificate. The platform has an easy-to-use interface and activities to help you better connect with the material. I love the fact that any time you purchase a course, a course will be donated to someone in need through one of the charities they partner with! If you’re interested, you can get 20% off your purchase with my code WELLNESSANDWANDERLUST.

Aside from Cudoo, there are a lot of great resources out there for learning something new online. Think about a skill-set you’ve been wanting to work on and try it out!

2. Adopt a new wellness practice.

With a global pandemic taking place right now, it’s more important than ever to focus on our health. For me, that has meant a few things: developing a daily exercise routine, eating intuitively and listening to what my body wants, and experimenting with new self-care practices. I tried my first sound bath, I started learning about reiki, and even took a night to do my own home spa pedicure. If there is something new you want to test out, this is a great time to do it. Treat yourself!

3. Tackle the nagging tasks.

I talked about this a lot during my 2019 Happiness Project, but “nagging tasks” are those to-do list items that we keep putting off until they all pile up at once. Being in quarantine has given me the opportunity to tackle some of my nagging tasks, one at a time. Whether you have a closet you want to reorganize or subscription services you’ve been meaning to cancel, this is the perfect time to get your life a little more organized.
