Breaking Free: Adventures at The Escape Game

Although the Central Florida portion of this blog tends to focus on some of the lesser known neighborhoods outside of Orlando, there’s something to be said for playing tourist for the day and hanging out by the attractions. Earlier this month, my friends and I did just that, taking a trip out to the famous International Drive for a night at The Escape Game.

If you haven’t made your way to The Escape Game yet, it’s time to book your adventure! The Escape Game, which has several locations throughout the U.S., offers immersive escape rooms with a variety of themes. From recovering a priceless painting to taking a trip to Mars, the escape rooms are creative and fun to choose from. For our escape room adventure, my friends and I had the opportunity to check out the Prison Break game.

We arrived about 15 minutes before our game time to check in, where we soon found out that we had chosen possibly the most difficult room! We learned that we had been convicted for a crime we did not commit, and would be split into two jail cells with a few clues left behind by a former inmate. Both groups would have to work together to break out of our cells and get out of prison.

I won’t tell you how we did it (no spoilers here 🙂 ), but over the course of an hour, we managed to escape! We had a blast working together to solve clues, and each puzzle really seemed to play to a different person’s strengths. We even broke free with a few minutes to spare!

If you’re looking for a fun way to unwind with friends this summer, The Escape Game should be at the top of your list. There is a theme for everyone here, and as a bonus, it’s the perfect way to beat the heat (and/or afternoon storms!). Games are easy to book online ahead of time, and with a location on International Drive, you’re within walking distance of some great restaurants to grab a bite after you escape.

    1. You’re welcome! They have a lot of fun rooms — Prison Break was challenging but we really enjoyed it! I have also done their Gold Rush room and that was pretty cool. 🙂
