If you’re new here, welcome! For those who have been following my blog and social media for a while, you probably know that back in September, I launched my podcast. Wellness and Wanderlust is a show much like its blog namesake, where we talk about how to live our best lives in a chaotic world. Some weeks I’ll interview incredible guests, and in other episodes, I’ll be flying solo and sharing my own experiences with listeners.

Although I’ve shared my episode show notes on the blog over the past few weeks, I know that I haven’t had a chance to tell you about my why.
Starting a podcast has been a goal of mine for the past two years. Ever since I was first introduced to the world of podcasting, these shows have changed the way I spend my commute time and have introduced me to so many new perspectives and wellness practices.
There’s something powerful about the human voice. I’ve always enjoyed sharing my story here on the blog, but I quickly realized that having a podcast would allow me to connect with people in such a raw and personal way. I’ve also had the fortune to meet so many amazing bloggers, podcasters and experts in a variety of areas, and through my podcast, I’d have the opportunity to have real conversations with them about how we could all add a little wellness and wanderlust to our own lives.
As someone who struggles with autoimmune issues, I’ve learned the hard way that wellness isn’t one-size-fits-all. It isn’t about calorie restriction, wearing a certain dress size or logging as many hours as you can at the gym. It isn’t about doing all the things or operating at 110% all the time.
Wellness is about loving your body no matter how well it’s functioning that day or what size it is. It’s about taking time for self-care. It’s about fueling our bodies with the foods that help us to operate at our best, incorporating joyful movement, listening to our intuition, being a part of our communities, and so much more.
I’ve struggled with these things throughout my life — and often, I still struggle. As a wellness blogger and podcaster, I’ve had to learn that I am not a before and after story, and that wellness is a journey that looks different for all of us.
Through my podcast, I want to help everyone I can, by approaching wellness from a place of love. My guests come from all walks of life, and I am so excited for you to meet them and learn from their stories.
We wouldn’t be Wellness and Wanderlust without a little wanderlust, so get ready for plenty of exciting travel tips and hacks from guests as well. Here on the podcast, we keep things fun, but we also keep things practical and real.
