Happy New Year, friends! I hope everyone has had a wonderful first few days of 2016 and that you are keeping on track with your New Year’s Resolutions. I have a few health and wellness goals this year (don’t we all?), but one of my annual goals is to make time for reading. 🙂

Reading a variety of genres and authors exposes you to new perspectives and can make you a better writer! Every year, I share my recap of what I read the year prior, as well as links to the blog posts that some of these books inspired.

  1. I actually just ordered The Mathematics of Love, after seeing it in your gift guide! 🙂 I loved The Disaster Artist. I’m really interested in how the movie turns out.

Recently, I’ve read Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson and The Tsar of Love and Techno by Anthony Marra. Both are incredible. The Steve Jobs biography was fascinating and sometimes inspiring. And the Tsar of Love and Techno was beautiful, and I’ve never read anything like it before.

This year, I plan on reading Modern Romance by Aziz Ansari, A Game of Thrones (I want to see if it’s worth the hype), Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes, The Kite Runner, Lolita, and His Dark Materials series.

    1. I’ll have to check some of those out! I have Modern Romance on my nightstand now, and am currently working on The Kite Runner, which has been a great read so far. I read Lolita a few years back and definitely enjoyed – Nabokov has such an interesting writing style. I’d love to get up to 25 books this year! My goal (years ago) was 50 and unfortunately the numbers just kept dwindling every year. 25 is a lot more reasonable! 🙂
